FIPA presents: Vacuum cups for sheet metal handling

FIPA GmbH (http://www.fipa.com) is entering sheet metal handling with a range of new products. The company is thus enhancing its already enormous range of vacuum cups and accessories for everything surrounding vacuum technology. “We are investing our expertise from over 20 years of involvement in material flow technology in a dynamic market into innovative products,” says Rainer Mehrer, CEO at FIPA.

High demands are placed on vacuum cups in the sheet metal and metal processing industries. The prerequisites for the reliable handling of sheet metals include a very good service life thanks to good resistance to wear and simultaneously great holding force, slip-resistance and freedom from paint-wetting impairment substances (PWIS) and silicone.

The completely newly developed generation of FIPA vacuum cups for sheet metal handling fulfils these requirements and offers unbeatable quality at competitive market prices. A broad spectrum of products is available for the automated production and handling of sheet metal pieces in the automobile, machinery and plant construction sectors as well as in the sheet metal and metal processing industries.

Vacuum cups for handling of oily sheets
The new flat and bellows vacuum cups in the SM-F and SM-B ranges are perfectly suited to the dynamic handling of sheet metal. Anti-slip cleats ensure a high degree of slip resistance and the absorption of transverse forces, even for oily sheets. Sheet metals can thus be handled more safely even in high speed processes. Supports help to prevent deep-drawing or deformation of thin sheets, as required for example in car manufacturing. Both flat and bellows vacuum cups feature an adjustable sealing lip. This means that the flat vacuum cups can be suctioned onto slightly convex surfaces and do not leak.
The bellows vacuum cup with 1.5 folds is geared towards the handling of sheet metals with more convex surfaces; due to their geometry these allow the handling of three-dimensional, shaped sheet metals and ensure good buffering for the positioning of the vacuum cup. Both vacuum cup types are available optionally with five different connection threads or with a rectangular quick-change adaptor.

Vacuum cups for handling of dry sheets
The new FIPA Varioflex® vacuum cups are perfectly suited to the handling of dry sheets, for example in the production of “white goods” such as dishwashers, washing machines, dryers and fridges. The particular construction features of this series include the soft sealing lip, which sits seamlessly onto dimensionally stable bellows. These prevent uncontrolled lateral contraction within wide limits. The soft sealing lip (30° Shore) is highly flexible and offers a high holding force, even on uneven surfaces; it also minimises micro-leakages. The bellows balance out height differences in three-dimensional parts. The dimensionally stable body (60° Shore) offers outstanding reset force and enables fast cycle times. The low-marking Varioflex® vacuum cup scores points for its high degree of stability, its long service life and its resistance to wear.

FIPA vacuum cups for sheet metal handling at a glance:

> Slip-resistant even for oily sheets: Flat and bellows vacuum cups in the SM-F and SM-B ranges for dynamic sheet metal handling
> Very good service life: Optimum materials ensure good resistance to wear
> High process reliability: High holding force for a high degree of dynamics during application
> Free of silicone and other paint-wetting impairment substances (PWIS): These are not permitted for use in products that will later be painted or coated. The new FIPA vacuum cups fulfil this requirement as a matter of course.

FIPA presents: Oval vacuum cups

Introducing the newly developed oval vacuum cups series.

The vacuum cups are characterised by a very long cycle life, which has also been successfully demonstrated against vacuum cups of competitors in practical operation. The long service life is enabled by means of a new high wear- and oil-resistant NBR material and a special vacuum suction cup construction which minimises the load on the vacuum cup during handling.

FIPA presents: New ID grippers for parts with different diameters

Flexible and service friendly

The pneumatically operated, single-acting ID grippers from FIPA GmbH have already established themselves as the alternative for workpieces with holes or cut-outs or for when vacuum cups or grippers aren’t just right for handling goods. FIPA has completely overhauled its portfolio and now offers users maximum flexibility with minimal set-up time.

The small ID grippers are now equipped with food-safe gripper heads made of polyamide (PA) and are suitable for light and small parts with openings measuring 3 to 10 millimeters in size. If necessary, the gripper heads can be easily exchanged in a non-destructive manner.
